James Blakstar John has played in the UK, Europe, America and Russia. Also Remixed for Tito Puente, Received airplay on BBC 1Xtra and Kiss FM and produced music for the British short film ‘Downing’.

James has been supported by many Influential House Music tastemakers, Received 9/10 recommend track reviews in iDJ mag, also received praise from best-selling author Deepak Chopra. Recently James produced all the music for a British short film entitled ‘Downing’. The film was selected for the Rhode Island International Film Festival and also Shortlisted for the Iris Prize and has now acquired DVD distribution.

In 2008 James produced a bootleg remix of Sandy Rivera’s ‘Freak’ track (Defected Records). This gained a lot of attention online and great feedback from Sandy Rivera himself. This then lead on to James being one of the artists commissioned to remix Tito Puente’s world famous hit ‘Oye Como Va’ in 2009 for Big In Ibiza Records. James’s remix became the 2nd most popular track on a top20 Dance Music compilation. 2010 James released his debut track ‘Smile’ featuring the vocals of pop R’n’B singer Deon Nathan on Detroit’s Whasdat Music label. Smile was an instant classic worldwide on the House music and Soul scene and also gained great support from BBC 1Xtra and Kiss Fm. James also remixed for Suges (Produced of Donaeo’s ‘Party Hard’). In 2011 James released a 4 track Techno EP, 3 remixes and 1 Bootleg remix of Erykah Badu’s ‘Back In The Day’ that all gained huge support worldwide.

It’s not just James’s musical skills that have acquired him attention. James is also a talented experienced videographer and has filmed many Documentaries and Acoustic Music videos for well-known figures.

With a number of songs ready to release, James is one to watch in 2012.
